My Day Summary - Wednesday!

• I found these pictures on my laptop from Christmas & thought they were quite laughable.
  The first is of my weirdo Brother who thinks his stupid face is funny... The second is the best Granddad ever!!! And lastly is my wacky Mother and Nana! 
• I'm in a great mood, I don't think we've mentioned yet but me and Ellie are moving into our house in Sunderland on Sunday! Literally could pee with excitement every time I think about it, the boys (Conor and Joel) are moving in a week later so having the house to ourselves for a while will be fun, fun, fun! 
• I can't stop watching Catfish. It's Catfish: The Ultimate Takeover week on Viva & being the jobless student I am, I'm hooked! Atm it's the episode where this girl believes she's been chatting to Bow Wow & it turns out to be a girl...who looks like a 12 year old boy... this show is just mad haha!  
• Lastly I've been having these super strange dreams; I wake up & forget them pretty quickly but I remember random vivid snippets which are just crazy! So here's a few Sleep fact for anyone else who might be waking up a little confused...

Heaven? As long as there's food...

Omg! How good does this drawing look? I want it to be real so bad.
Our blog is mostly about fashion and beauty but now & then we like to share our random thoughts as well. And this is one of them... food glorious food!

Ellie's all time favourite is Pizza, like the majority of students! And mine is Seafood in general, I think I like most seafood: Muscles, Crab, Lobster, Squid, Sushi...
Everyone is different, my boyfriend hates trying new food; when we first got together we'd be at a restaurant and I'd be like 'Hey why don't you get the Chilli Con Carne' and he'd be like 'No, I don't like that', and then it'd come out that he'd never even tried it before! He doesn't like Seafood, Black Pudding, Stuffing, Parsnips yet he's never even tried any of them, and he's bloody resilient as well!

As well as liking different food, people eat their food in different manners as well! When I was a kid my Dad was really weird about dinner time, it was at 5:30 everyday, and we had to eat it around the table; it's still that way now but at least now I don't have to have tea at home!

I think for my Dad it was more a case of ease as well as getting everyone in the same place to chat... but my friends used to mock me to no end. "Awh is it Amy's tea time", "Quick Amy run home it's family time". Worst thing of all was up until the age of 11, my brother and I would play in the street and come 5:15 my Dad would whistle out the window like he was calling for the dogs!!

My boyfriends family don't even have a dinner table! That's how different things can get. They sit around the television and eat off trays; when I first went round his house I was like "Dude, where's the table?"

Christmas List: Perfect Perfumes.

I know, I know, Christmas is 4 whole months away. But I've learned over the years that it's best to start knowing what you want early! This is around the time of year that family member especially start asking what you want for Christmas, so lets start off our lists with these perfect perfumes. 

1.  Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Eau de Parfum. £62 for 50ml; available at www.harrods.com.

If you have a deep love of flowers and all things romantic, then this is the perfect perfume for you. Not only does it look pretty, it smells pretty too; Dolce is a gentle, feminine mix of white flowers and is said to represent Sicily which is also the inspiration behind their fashion designs. 

2. Naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood – available at www.theperfumeshop.com £53.50

The bottle, much like the perfume, is elegant and sweet; attached is a pretty little charm bracelet too so it’s like two gifts in one! It’s a warm and sexy perfume for modern women; with scents of black rose, violet, ylang-ylang and musk. It's like a sexy baby powder, soft but promising mischievousness 

3. Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stafani – available at www.theperfumeshop.com £12

This one isn’t quite at the same standard as the others but it’s a secret love of mine. For one the bottle is brilliant, and for two it smells so fruity and sweet. Admittedly, it’s not going to work for a nice date in a restaurant or for a family wedding or anything particularly classy for that matter, but it is perfect for nights out at the clubs! 

4. Gianni Versace Couture Jasmin Eau de Parfum. £300 for 100ml; available at www.harrods.com

This price is completely ridiculous for the standard citizen, but we can always dream! I love Versace’s clothing lines so despite having not actually smelled this perfume, I know I will love it. & One day, I promise you, one day I will have this! It comes in a studded nappa leather case (explaining some of the price) which comes in blue, pink and purple.  The three fragrances focus on scents of violet, tuberose and jasmine.

Revlon Colorstay 24 hrs Foundation Review - Normal / Dry Skin

I have seen this foundation featured in many videos on Youtube, its excellent reviews and full coverage raves made me curious about whether all of these comments about the product were true. Note the foundation type I purchased is for Normal / Dry skin, Revlon also do a Combination / Oily skin product.

The product claims to:

• Last up to 24 hours
• Give a flawless and lightweight feel

I was very pleased with the outcome this foundation gave me, the biggest pro for me was the fact that it does not look dry on your skin like a lot of other foundations do, I think a lot of foundation products should take a page from Revlon's book and make 2 versions of their foundation so it's easy for the buyer to know that the foundation won't make their face even drier or look even more oily. This has happened to me countless times with foundations, even with a ton of moisturiser and primer on under it but this product is far from my skin's enemy. 

The shade I purchased this in is 150 Buff, I am usually an ivory but I've noticed that the colour washes me out. Although the shade would be perfect for highlighting if you have fair skin like me (thats if you want to spend another £12.49) the colour is perfect, its the second lightest shade they have and has no yellowy tones. 

The product claims to last up to 24 hours, yesterday I thought I would test this and the results were very good, although no one wears their everyday foundation for 24 hours it's a positive to hear that it actually can last for 24 hours. 

"Flawless look, lightweight feel", I have seen some reviews on the product for being too 'cakey' and 'heavy', I feel a little goes a long way with this foundation. Of course it would feel heavy and cakey if you were putting too much on, the consistency is liquidy before shaking it so make sure to do that before you apply it. It did give me a somewhat flawless look although I advice you to put powder on to set it in after, this will compliment the foundation and achieve a fully flawless look, I find that matte powders work best. Their claim on the foundation being lightweight is true from my experience, how can a foundation give such good coverage and also not feel heavy? It just works! With other foundations I've been left feeling like my foundation just sits on my face and doesn't do anything for it, with this I feel like the only thing I have on my face is moisturiser and surely everyone wants that flawless skin look without looking like they have foundation on! 

I bought the foundation purely because it specified in dry skin, as I said before but another important reason was due to the fact that it was such good coverage, now you won't get the best coverage if you don't apply concealer and powder after using the foundation because I don't think any foundation can make a blemish disappear on its own! 

Its irritating when you have a spot you want to cover and you feel like putting more foundation on will do that, the foundation gave me no reason to at all and I found myself wanting to put less on due to the consistency being so smooth I didn't want to ruin that. 

A con for me is very popular amongst the people who also have this product, WHERE IS THE PUMP? Surely Revlon couldn't spare a few quid each for this as it would be more than beneficial to their customers. With pumps you're in control of how much foundation you're putting on, with this it feels like it can end well or really badly! Make sure to tip the bottle lightly to apply a little bit of it to your hand at a time, this is so you're not wasting the product after you've applied it and find you still have a lot left on your hand still.

Overall the foundation somewhat does what it says on the tin! It's definitely one of the better drugstore foundations out there if you're only willing to spend £10-15.

Batiste dry shampoo review!

It's not even 2pm yet, but already I've been to the shop, walked the dogs, worked out at the gym and so I thought, while I'm on a role why not do a blog post too! Not to mention we're long overdue another post.

I bought brunette tint dry shampoo by batiste a fortnight ago, one: because I wanted more volume in my hair & two: because I had been informed that the less you wash your hair the better, but no-one wants greasy roots.

I'm sure the majority of people are already well aware of how brilliant this product is, a lot of my friends have used it at festivals for years.

According to the advert "96% agree that it makes hair look and feel better between washes", and so long as you hold the bottle far enough away to avoid build up this is definitely true!

The colour tint collection are £1 more than the originals, but I do think they're worth it. The originals sometimes leave a grey residue behind, and unless you're going for the over 50's look you probably want to avoid that residue. The colour tint collection leave behind a residue, but this time it's the same colour as your hair; a much more desirable option.

In terms of giving your ha
ir more body, it does that too, the drying effect it has on the roots make it much easier to boof up the hair & I'm pretty certain it made my hair styles stay in the right position for longer. Miracles.

As for stopping your hair from looking and feeling greasy, that's an obvious, hell yes! I have no idea how it works but it's pure brilliance.

With the prices ranging from a minuscule £1.99 to £4.00, It's definitely worth the order. The only downside is how long it lasts, or doesn't. My bottle lasted 2 weeks, which is about the same amount of time a bottle of shampoo lasts but I was using this product a lot less than I'd normally use my shampoo.

Washing your hair everyday strips essential oils and freshly washed hair doesn't create as good hair styles as day old hair does so I hope this review has convinced you to dry shampoo instead.

Lickity Split - Seaham

Seaham beach front is a great place to go for a day out if you live near by or are holidaying in the area. There are rock pools, bathing areas, fish & chip shops, great sweet shops and of course Lickity Split.

Lickity split is a fantastic little 1950's themed ice-cream parlour; it's black & white chequered floors, Elvis Presley statue, red leather booths and Jukebox in the corner all make you feel like you time leaped into 50's America.

Rock & roll music plays around diner and the staff wear little red ascots  further pulling you back in time. The menu is full of fun and eccentric descriptions and names for the food you can order. You can get a Hot Dog the size of a baseball bat for £15.95, I was so tempted to get it just to see what it would look & I absolutely love hot dogs!! 

 This is what I ended up deciding to get, the Banoffee Pie Sundae, possibly the best thing I've ever tasted. If anyone else is a banana lover you have got to get this! My dad got the Banana Split which looked just as, if not more, delicious, & my mum got the Truly Toffee which had little bits of Dime bar and Mars bar in. The full menu is available on their website which is linked below, personally I don't like looking at it because it make me super hungry and really want to go there and order everything just because it all sounds sooo mouth wateringly good. The Lickity Screwball looks especially amazing!!

 So that conclude this little rant about how everyone who sees this post should get on over to Seaham ASAP and order themselves some Baseball Hot Dogs and some Bubblegum Ice-cream & then maybe top it all of with a banana milkshake!

I mean, come on, the place has a jukebox, I feel like anywhere that has a jukebox, whether it works or not, is a must try place; it makes them superior to all the places.

Fake Tan Rethink - Loreal Paris Elixer

I've been meaning to do this post for a fortnight now but I've been so busy with summer stuffs I just genuinely haven't had time, plus my brain is like one of those really steep water park slides, things are there one second and then it's like... Pooof... and suddenly I have no recollection of what I was/am doing. It's quite the handicap.

Anyways, the reason for this post is, LOREAL PARIS FAKE TAN ELIXIR IS NOT AS AMAZING AS I ONCE BELIEVED!!!!

Seriously, I know that in the post I did a couple of weeks/a month ago was all "OMG this stuff is the shit!" but now I'm like "OMG this stuff is shit."

I did that other post 3 days after the application and I promise it did look really fantastic, but now I've been trying to perfect the use for like a month and I've realised several flaws in it's making.

#1. It does not last 2 weeks, I'm not sure if maybe I'm just not supposed to shower for those 2 weeks, perhaps that's what the makers intended because after just 3 showers it began to fade and go all weird and gross looking,

#2. It says 'even fade' but in no way does this stuff fade evenly, my brother saw me and said 'you look like you've got a skin disease', & I did. The sides of my neck were brown but the middle was white and all across my chest was blotches of white and brown.

#3. It's dark enough after one application for most skin tones but because it's a clear gel which develops over a few hours you don't realise that there are parts you've missed, so you have to go over it again and again to get it even, but now you've reached a strange browny orange colour which is not attractive.

#4. Because you have to apply it all over your body once everyday for 3 days you run out really fast! So if you wanted a continual tan you'd need to buy a new bottle every month and a half and it costs £15 so that's quite an expenditure in the long run.
